Dream Board 2014 – Reposting by request

ENJOY!

How will you start the new year?  Grab some old magazines, a board, scissors and glue and start creating a dream board for all the wonderful things you would like to create for 2014. This is best done, while listening to music and randomly choosing images that catch your eye. There is no wrong way to create a board. Here is a short video of our very own Sherry Puricelli’s Dream Board. Enjoy.

Feel free to leave a comment or share your dream board with us.

Music – The Unifier

A few nights ago, I witnessed the most beautiful thing. I was invited to a church choir concert by a friend. This was no ordinary concert. Four different churches from different faiths were invited to sing, along with the very talented Westminster College Chamber Singers.

As I arrive at the Cottonwood Heights Presbyterian Church these amazing children ages 8 to 14 are playing the most incredible piece on their violins. I later found out they were taught the Suzuki Method, where they learn to play by ear at a very young age.  Each Choir then sings one to two songs, very true to their specific religion but all singing the Universal message of worship and love. My ears were in heaven. The young adults from Westminster College displayed their years of training by singing four songs and showcasing soloists that made you want to fall to your knees and cry. To conclude the concert and with the direction of Bruce Avery, my friend’s dad, all the choirs stood up and sang “The Lord’s Prayer”.  I could hear and feel the roaring sounds from beneath my feet. The power in their voices made me feel like I was in a safe place and nothing could harm me, and if it did, so what, I would die completely content and peacefully. If that wasn’t enough there was one last song where all choirs sang accompanied by the organ and the beautiful children violinists. A gathering like that can restore faith where one has lost it. I was so very blessed to have witnessed it!

With everything going on in this world, hope and faith sneak in at the most opportune time. Music is the one UNIFIER of all faiths and religions. Feeling the power of something greater than your self is truly amazing. Whether you are religious or not, find something that moves you, something that can bring you to tears and then you will know what is truly important in life.

WORD PLAY: Since I love playing with dream and synchronicity, let’s play with the word “unifier”. I thought uniter was a word but didn’t find it in the English dictionary, which led me to unifier. I look at this word and think of “One Fire” which then makes me think of “One Passion”.  What do you think of?

Note: I was so in the moment I didn’t get a chance to record such an amazing concert, so below is a couple of videos I found on youtube of the Westminster College Chamber Singers and Rocky Mountain Strings just to give you an idea. Enjoy!

No More Waiting

Longing to be With You

Anticipating the forbidden encounter,
I take this opportunity
to carefully open myself up,
exposing my yearning
and my unkept promises,
revealing my vulnerability
at its core.

I’m here, I witness myself saying hesitantly,
I feel a little nervous and unsure,
for it’s been so long since we’ve last met,
I’ve forgotten how to be with you;

But we’re here now,
together at last,
I hear myself whispering,
just little ole me
in the forbidden encounter,
alone with my soul.   — Sherry Puricelli

January is our month for Self Care. It sounds so easy. Many of us believe we’re already doing it. But are we really? Ask yourself if you’ve been waiting. No? No “after I help my children with …?,” No “as soon as I finish with …?” No “on my first free day?”

Well, being one of the world’s best (or worst) students in this game of self care, after several failing grades, I believe I’m off to a great start … um, well this time!

Today’s lesson on self care is — NO WAITING!

Do something extremely radical to treat yourself. Today, I’m hanging out with me and we’re treating ourselves to a spa treatment! Ooo Yay! Then I’m having champagne with my husband and then we’re heading out to a restaurant for a nice, romantic dinner. Tomorrow morning? I’m sleeping in, then I’m treating myself to two more spa treatments! Now, that’s radical! Or at least it is for me.  Aaahh, together at last!

Wondering how you are doing at self care? What grade would you give yourself?

Living the Dream, Living the Archetype

RE-Posting this article by popular request.
We are back from this year’s IASD Conference. We had a wonderful time. Met great people, attended insightful workshops, classes and presentations. The art show was amazing and experiential. My (Glory’s) favorite part of the week was attending the Dream Ball. We had to dress like one of our dream characters.
Well this year, Sherry, Tzivia and I, had a shared theme that started back in February. The Mother archetype decided to show up in dreams, synchronicities and our retreat. She really wanted to be acknowledged and honored and we did. Sherry, around the same time was working on the Empress card for her tarot deck, Mystic Illumination.
So we decided to once again invite The Mother to our dream ball. I attended as Mother Earth or Gaia. Sherry transformed herself into Lady of Guadalupe, and Tzivia embodied that last part of the poem below as “ME” a synchronicity that hopefully she will write about and share with us soon. Below is the poem that was shared at the Dream Ball written by Sherry Puricelli. I feel so blessed to have been a part of such a lovely, moving, and creative experience. Thank you ladies for sharing your gifts and thank you to the Great Mother.

Mother

Mother of cycles,
you are eternal Home to me;
sisters, aunts, mothers, grandmothers,
you’re there for me, always – no matter how far away I fly;
Mother Mary, Mother Earth, Mother of Galaxies,
Mother in my dreams,
you continually cycle back to me…
bringing me home, dancing me home, singing me home,
with empathy, painted – with colorful drops of Mother.

When I can’t keep up,
or cannot make the climb, you are the charger of my soul;
when I fall,
You bleed, and reveal your scar so I can learn self-healing;
when I lay broken,
you show me flowers that broke open too,
erupting into gardens of inner beauty;
Whenever I call,
Mother in my dreams,
you continually cycle back to me..
bringing me home, dancing me home, singing me home,
with empathy, painted – with colorful drops of Gaia.

When my heart is heavy,
you carry my sorrows and you become my rock;
When I’m missing you,
I hear your lullaby in the mourning doves’ cry.
when I am lost,
your evening star twinkles my inspiration trail.
When I lack faith,
you are my monument, my altar, my prayer,
so I can rediscover my own temple.
Mother in my dreams,
you continually cycle back to me..
bringing me home, dancing me home, singing me home,
with empathy, painted – with colorful drops of Mary.

Mother of cycles,
you are eternal Home to me;
In the theatre of our mutual dream,
I have buried your key;
We’re dancing rainbows
in timeless time,
spaceless space,
and deathless death;
You’ve been with me always,
since before my first lullaby,
and after my last step.

I am Mother in my dreams,
continually cycling back ..
bringing me home, dancing me home, singing me home,
with empathy, painted – with colorful drops of Me.
